French group Sanofi to move its Romanian headquarters to Skanska's Green Court Bucharest office complex

French group Sanofi, one of the largest pharmaceutical groups on the Romanian market, will move its local headquarters to the Green Court Bucharest office complex developed by Swedish group Skanska.

Sanofi rented 2,200 sqm in the second building of the Green Court complex, which should be finalized in the first half of 2015. Sanofi is the first tenant of the building, which has a total of 18,000 sqm of gross leasable area (GLA).

So far, Skanska has closed leasing contracts for about 19,000 sqm in the complex, with the first building almost fully rented by clients such as Orange Romania and Schneider Electric. The first building of the complex will be finalized this fall.

Skanska is currently working to finalize the structure of the second building after which it will start working on the façade.

The Green Court office project is located in the Barbu Vacarescu area, one of the hot spots for offices in Bucharest. Among the amenities in the area are the Aurel Vlaicu subway station and the Promenada Mall. Skanska’s office project has a total of three buildings with a total GLA of 52,000 sqm.

French group Sanofi is one of the largest pharmaceutical distributors in Romania. Sanofi Aventis Romania SRL had a turnover of EUR 190 million in 2013, with 170 employees. The company’s headquarter is currently located in the Izvor 80 office building, next to the Casa Poporului. Sanofi also owns the Zentiva drug factory in Bucharest.
